Each hedgehog comes with a little bag of food, a snuggle sack, and and their little amethyst crystal. I can explain:

Each hog in my herd is represented by an amethyst crystal. I am not sure why I started doing this, it started as a casual thing, and it still is casual, but as soon as I know how many hoglets are in the nest, that number of amethyst crystals is added to the existing ring of amethyst crystals. When a hedgehog leaves my care to join a new owner, their amethyst goes with them. What you do with it is entirely up to you, but you definitely do not want to put in in their cage, because it is not a safe object for them to play with.
